Sunday Picks#3

For this new post, I wanted to try something new and write it completely in English, which is something I have been wanting to do for such a long time. To be honest, I don´t know what kept me so long from doing it, but it makes me feel way more comfortable in a certain way. This is really hard to explain, but writing in English makes me happy and always inspires me. On some days it is harder to get to the point of what I am saying, which is probably caused by the fact that it is not my native language. So I apologize in advance for all my spelling mistakes and keep in mind that I am still learning, which is also why I want to write more in English on my blog. It is a good way to improve my writing and also it makes it way easier for all the international readers to understand what I am actually writing about. So for all the German readers, I hope you're not opposed by this little change and trust me, there will be still a lot of German written posts, but I don't want to make a big thing out of every English post in the future. Please let me know what you think in the comments!

After rambling about all my reasons for this little language change, let´s talk about the actual subject. The Sunday Picks are one of my favorite kind of posts to write because I am able to share all of my newest obsessions and discoveries. It is a great way to show you some new things and hopefully, I can inspire you a bit with what I recently found online. But without further do(wow now I sound literally like a basic YouTuber) let me show you some great things, because I found a lot!

Starting off with this Faux Map Drawer I was really impressed that the entire thing is self-made. It not only looks like a dream for Vintage furniture lovers like myself but it is also not that hard to make. You don´t need a big list of materials, which is a big plus in my opinion. The drawer dresser is great for storing almost everything you imagine. Personally, I would use it to store all my stationary things like paper, notebooks and pens, but this is just my preference and there are way more other ways of using the storage. I can´t tell you enough how much I like this DIY and you can tell how much effort was put into this post. So if you don´t want to spend a huge amount of money for a vintage drawer dresser, I can highly suggest you try this DIY. And when your friends and family compliment it, you can proudly say that you made it all by yourself, which is a great feeling am I right?

2. A Healthier Food Shop

The next blog post is from a blog I follow for some time now. If you are interested in subjects like Low Waste,  Minimalism and how to live a vegan and plant-based life, Sophie from A Considered Life will give you a lot of helpful information and guide you in the right way.  I find myself saving almost all of her posts after reading them. This post is a good example of what she´s writing about. As a person who´s trying to eat more healthy, these tips are really helpful and I can officially say that I´m way more conscious when it comes to food shopping. Especially reading the ingredients made me realize how much junk and unhealthy stuff we put into our body. And I am not saying that you should be really strict with ingredients, but being aware of the things that you put into your body and focusing on your health is just as important and it all starts with what you choose to eat.

3. Inspiring Quotes

After blog posts, it is now time for quotes, one of my favorite things to share with you! The meaning behind these two quotes is a topic which I´m thinking about lately. I don´t know if you ever heard about the "Power of Now", but after I read the book from Eckhart Tolle it changed my life. It made me realize that I was living way too far in the future and forgetting the present. Sometimes it is good to plan ahead, but when your thoughts are only consisting of expectations and future plans, because your now doesn´t satisfy you, something is not right. And I am guilty of that too, but after getting more conscious of the now and I can appreciate all the little beautiful things every day. I´m not completely into the now, but it´s something you can´t change overnight and it also means you need to accept negative and bad things that are happening to you right now. Just keep in mind that things will get better and always look on the bright side, even when it seems dark and hopeless. I also talked about this on one of my newest Instagram posts, which you can find here.

4. Things You Have To Stop Telling Yourself

I just realized while I am writing this, that this entire post is getting deeper than expected, but you know what, sometimes it´s a mood like right now at this moment(which also refers back to my previous pick). This post about things you have to stop telling yourself will open your eyes to a lot of things you probably never thought would keep you from living a life full of happiness and self-love.  There were a lot of things she mentioned, that I was aware of, but it made me realize how some of my thoughts really affect me on a daily basis. Overall this post was really helpful and everyone should read this.

5. Neogen Bio Peel Gauze Peeling Lemon

Did the picture make me want to buy this product even more? YES, it did! But besides the beautiful photography and color scheme, I have been dying to try this product for so long and hopefully, someday it will lay in my hands...
The Neogen Bio Peel Gauze Peeling is a really popular Korean skincare product and so many people rave about this product. After reading this review I knew this is exactly the product that is missing from my skincare collection.  The product claims to smell like lemon and that is exactly what I love! Also, you REALLY need to check out Bambis blog, because she not only takes stunning pictures, but all her reviews are so detailed and informative that you know right away if the product is good for you or not. And lastly, I think the meaning behind the name of her blog is kinda genius in my opinion. It includes the three words K(orean), Herb(s) and B(log) to make it KHERBLOG and  I love the thoughts which went into it, if you couldn´t tell.

6. Positive Habits To Start Doing Daily

Now it is official that these Sunday Picks are the deepest I´ve posted ever. The next post I want to show you is from the beautiful Mandy. She talks about some good daily habits for growth and personal development, which is something we should all include in our daily-life in my opinion. So if you lack ideas of what you need or could do daily for a much more positive life, check out this post! I personally found a few points and starting some new habits daily is definitely a goal of mine for this year.

7. Illustrations by Kee

Lastly, I am going to end this post with a little cute illustration I found on Pinterest. This illustrated girl by the talented Kee gives me not only autumn vibes or inspires me to wear more basics(one of my coats looks exactly like the one the girl is wearing), but also to start drawing some simple illustrations. I love drawing, but I am always afraid of messing up, so let´s call it sketching. No worries about messing up! Yes, I know you can mess up a sketch as well, but it is so much more fun to not think about it too much and see what you can create with a clear mind, trust me you will be surprised!

Which one was your favorite pick?

  1. I haven't seen the post before but thank you for including me in your Sunday picks. I'm so happy that you like this photo. I always joke that I didn't pick the good name since I'm the worst in promoting my blog (what's the funniest thing ever since I'm a community moderator so my job is all about SEO and getting traffic to the community I work for while with my personal projects I can't really develop them :D ). Thank you so much for including me <3
